We've been really obsessive about making our patio area nicer this year. It's an uphill battle with the extreme texas heat, ravenous mosquitos, squirrel eating cats, and monsoon rain events, BUT IT'S ALL WE'VE GOT! 😭

It's been crazy to see how much a small oasis can serve other creatures as well. Our pitiful garden never really took off, but it was definitely home to numerous baby lizards and caterpillars. I think a lot of creatures out there just want a moment to breathe. 🤦‍♂️

So we imagine this lil patio toad just posting up while you're away, and enjoying a bit of momentary quiet.

It's weird to think that we started doing these at the beginning of lockdown. Even weirder still is that, for Texas, a lot of our numbers are worse than they were when things shut down.

I keep coming back mentally to Space is the Place, and the eerily prescient chorus line: "It's after the end of the world; don't you know that yet?"
