Hi friends! Can you believe that Zine Fest Houston is TOMORROW? The final stretch of 2025 has really flown by, and we're working furiously to prepare a few new goodies to share with you. So read along in this, our next to last newsletter for the year, as we cover:
- Zine Fest Houston this Saturday, 12-6pm.
- Dallas Paper Party on 11/22 from 12-5pm.
- Night Bloom Calendars are done!
- Exhibition at Basket Books and Art on view.
- They're Out There! zines are available.
- Two shows with art by James.
- Online store closes December 4th!

YEEHAW! It's time for Zine Fest Houston, and we'll be set up at booth number 78, which is at the center of the center aisle. Hopefully this means that we'll have front row seats for all the cowpoke fashions during the fashion show at 5:30pm. So join us there for a radical slate of programs, zinesters, and small presses in one of the south's largest zine fests!!! Debuting at this year's show, we'll have Night Bloom: The 2026 Mystic Multiples Calendar, They're Out There! Eco Horror Art Zine, and some special copies of a FREE ZINE chronicling Houston's landfill problems. For the free zine, you'll need to race on over like a crazed bronco because they're first come, first served, and limited to 30 copies

Dallas folks, there's no need to be down in the dumps-- you've got your own special publishing event coming up next weekend with the Dallas Paper Party! It's a roundup of a of risograph publishers and printmaking pros that celebrates the culture of print in Dallas. And we're very happy to join the celebration at the Four Corners Brewery on Saturday, 11/22, from 12pm-5pm. Come gather round the watering hole and wet your whistle before we ride off into the sunset!

It's here! Our 2026 calendar, Night Bloom, celebrates night blooming plants from around the world. Printed in green and black risograph inks, we're featuring 12 original illustrations from Sarah, along with pagan / neopagan holidays like Yule, Imbolc, Mabon and more! And where would our night blooms be without the Moon? We've also noted each new moon, and full moon, along with special names from folklore for the full moons like the Wolf Moon, Beaver Moon, and Sturgeon Moon! The calendar was produced as an edition of 100, and if last year is any indicator, we might sell out at Dallas Paper Party. To secure your copy, you can order from the presale listing in our webstore. May you bloom under the cover of darkness in 2026...

Very big thanks to everyone who came out to see Sarah Welch and Natasha Bowdoin's show, Black Water, Green Fruit, at Basket Books and Art! The show is up until January of next year, so please check it out when you have a chance. We left a supply of zines there, which are available for sale in person or on our website. In addition, many of the original drawings featured in the zine are available for sale through the gallery. I am especially fond of the wall pieces composed for the show, which are on view in the back room and allow you to stage your own eco horror scene next to some gigantic mosquitos.

You can purchase They're Out There!! in our online store.

There are two ongoing exhibitions that include works by myself that you should check out! First up is the Steamrolled X exhibition at Sabine Street Studios, which features work from this year's Rockin' and Rollin' Prints event. For this steamroller printing event, artists carved 3' by 5' woodblocks and created extra large relief prints on the prompt "Perfect Days." Old King Log is the title of my piece, and it's inspired by a fable from Aesop that I've really enjoyed. The resulting print is available for sale, as is the carved block itself. The exhibition features some excellent work this year, and I recommend you take some time to view it yourself!

Second, I am proud to share that I have a small piece in the ClayHouston Members Show this year. This show features work from a variety of talented clay artisans, all curated under the theme of 'The Four Elements'. My piece is a small vessel that was thrown on the wheel and carved while wet, which produces a unique texture underneath the glaze. There are many outstanding pieces in the show, which is on view at Monterroso Gallery until the 29th-- if you would like to see it, you'd better hurry!

Lastly, we're approaching the winter slumber season. We have an exciting project we're researching for next year, so we're going to close the online store in early December to focus on that work. December 4th will be the last day for orders online, and we will reopen on January 4th. We'll try to share one last newsletter with some intentions for the new year around Christmas, but it will be a non-commercial affair.
